EU promotes CNC machine tool 'Next Generation Production System' project

by:Gewinn     2022-05-02
With the transfer of traditional manufacturing to China, industrialized countries in Europe, America and Japan are formulating and implementing new manufacturing strategies to maintain and strengthen their competitiveness. The EU believes that manufacturing is still an important force driving European economic development, but its connotation will change. It is a high-tech manufacturing industry, that is, knowledge-based manufacturing. Its mission is to rebuild the European manufacturing industry and realize the improvement of the industrial structure. Modernization Transformation. To this end, the European Union attaches great importance to the development of the CNC machine tool industry. From 2003 to 2015, the European International Machine Tool Exhibition was organized by the European Machine Tool Industry Cooperation Committee (CECIMO), and the European International Machine Tool Exhibition was held in Hanover, Germany and Milan, Italy in odd-numbered years. At the same time, the Technical Department of the European Machine Tool Industry Cooperation Committee was established to support the research and development of machine tool technology. There are many research plans that include machine tool parts, such as 'the EC 7th Framework Programme (FP7)(Thematic Network on Manufacturing Technologies, MANTYS)”, “Environmental Product Life Cycle Management for building competitive machine tools (PROLIMA)” and “NEXT Generation Production System)” and so on. The main contents of the 'Next Generation Production System' are briefly described below. In order to improve the competitiveness of the European manufacturing industry in the future, the European Community has funded the cooperation of 25 units in 9 countries including the European Machine Tool Association, manufacturers, scientific research institutes, end users and banks to carry out the 'Next Generation Production System' (Next Generation Production System). Systems)” research. The project funding is as high as 24 million euros for a period of 4 years, from 2005 to 2009. A special report on the project was organized at the Hannover Machine Tool Fair in September 2007. The next-generation production system project mainly includes the following five elements: 1) green machine tools; 2) user-oriented intelligent machine tools; 3) breakthrough high-efficiency machining processes; 4) new areas of economic activity; 5) new training and promotion methods . The expected goals of the next generation production system project are: 1) Improve the competitiveness of enterprises. Improve the competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises by improving the productivity and product quality of the production system; 2) the environment. Strive to minimize the environmental load of the production system and achieve sustainable development; 3) Employment. A new generation of occupations, improving existing conditions so that women can also work in manufacturing; 4) Quality of life. Improve occupational safety, improve working conditions, and protect workers' health; 5) Manufacturing image. Improving the image of industrial production and research in manufacturing is no longer a hard and tiring job. 1. Green Machine Tool Machine tool is a working machine that converts blanks into parts. During use, it not only consumes energy, but also generates solid, liquid and gas wastes, causing direct or indirect pollution to the working environment and natural environment. From the perspective of the entire machine tool life cycle, how to reduce the impact of green machine tools on the environment has become a focus of current research. Green machine tools should have the following characteristics: 1) Machine tool parts are made of recycled materials; 2) The weight and volume of the machine tool are reduced by more than 50%; 3) Power consumption can be reduced by 30% to 40% by reducing moving mass and reducing idle power. %; 4) Various wastes in the use process are reduced by 50% to 60%, ensuring a basically pollution-free working environment; 5) 100% of the materials of the machine tool after scrapping are recyclable. The European Community attaches great importance to research on green machine tools and, in addition to the above-mentioned 'Next Generation Production Systems2. Smart Machine Tools If the vision of a green machine tool is to be environmentally friendly, then the goal of an intelligent machine tool is to be user-friendly. 'User-friendly' means greatly improving work efficiency and making work more comfortable and safe. This requires that the machine tool can achieve autonomous management, can automatically identify the processing tasks and processing status, no or little manual intervention is required, and it can communicate with the operator in a timely manner to become 'smart'. It can be expected that Smart Machining will open up a new era of CNC machine tools. The research on intelligent machine tools aiming at 'smartness' involves the following three fields: 1) intelligent functional components and software; 2) intelligent machining process; 3) intelligent numerical control. 3. Breakthrough high-efficiency processing technology Research on key technologies enables breakthroughs in every field to achieve ultra-high-performance manufacturing processes. The following four goals are proposed: 1) Increase the acceleration of the CNC axis by 3 to 5 times; 2) Increase the speed by 3 to 5 times; 3) Increase the productivity of the CNC machine tool by 5 times; 4) Improve the machining accuracy of the machine tool greatly. 4. The new field of economic activity is mainly achieved through the following seven ways: 1) production process; 2) monitoring and measurement; 3) adaptive technology; 4) new material; 5) new structure; 6) control system; 7) modeling and simulation. 5. Users of new business models and training machine tools expect machine tool suppliers to provide full life cycle services, so it is necessary to establish a comprehensive partnership between end users and machine tool manufacturers to provide a strong, new business model, which is characterized as follows : 1) The concept of innovative value; 2) The change of marketing organization and method; 3) The financial management method of payment according to output and availability; 4) The customization of machine tool system configuration. For companies aspiring to improve their international competitiveness, provide relevant software tools and methods to support them in establishing new strategic business relationships. The promotion of the new generation of production systems requires extensive training in academic theory and technical expertise for SMEs using machine tools throughout Europe.
