Germans teach you the right way to 'open' a smart factory

For the future smart factory, the 'SMARTFACE' project jointly developed by the Fraunhofer Institute of Logistics and its partners may give you some new planning ideas, especially for those small and medium-sized, flexible production fields, whether BMWI Electric cars are also Nike sneakers. More personalized products are a challenge faced by almost every industry. For automotive products, customers want to choose not only the shape of the car, but also various configurations such as different interiors, wheels, and audio according to their personal color preferences; for this reason, car manufacturers need to provide more and more products Combination to meet customer needs, 1025 is the largest order of magnitude combination variable that is currently possible, so that there are almost no duplicates in the cars that can be seen on the market today. However, such consumer demands have created a huge challenge for traditional automobile production lines, which were originally designed for mass production. In this regard, the 'SMARTFACE' (Smart Factory Lean Production Program) project will change all this for you. The goal of the project is to create a smart factory that can produce flexible production, suitable for small and medium batches of customized products, all intelligent planning through local information Physical system CPS to control. Application examples and pilot projects related to Industry 4.0 across Germany can be seen on the 4.0 platform map published in Germany. SMARTFACE is one of the pilot projects. The 'SMARTFACE' project was initiated by the German Institute of Logistics and sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWI). The partners include: Dortmund University of Technology, Continental, PSI, SICK, Volkswagen, LANFER Automation, etc. For new production plans with increasingly complex and individual requirements, manufacturing companies must seek more flexible response methods, especially for small batch production. To this end, SMARTFACE can flexibly transform the organizational process of daily scheduling into a self-organizing CPS cyber-physical system to meet shorter production cycles and more personalized product requirements. Shorter production cycle, more personalized output - this has always been the main research topic of German manufacturing companies in recent years. After a long period of exploration, the German auto industry is now proud that it is almost impossible to find To the two cars are the same! Now, high-efficiency and diverse production methods that change in tandem with demand have become the trend of the leading industry. Taking the automotive industry as an example, traditional planning systems and production lines are very complex and inflexible, requiring long lead times. Today, methods for automotive production planning can control the manufacturing process down to the smallest detail of schedule. Based on the discrete control of the cyber-physical system CPS, the future production assembly line is no longer centralized control and linear, but a highly flexible discrete self-organizing system. A CPS system can support both high automation and manual operations. In the smart factory built by SMARTFACE, the AGV car can accurately perceive the weight of the goods and the priority of the task. When an emergency task occurs, other AGVs can automatically avoid and reduce the speed of traffic to ensure the smooth completion of the task. Necessary parts can be stocked next to the automobile assembly station, so that the corresponding parts can be supplied to the work station in time; the intelligent warehouse management system can even know the stocking information outside the warehouse or during transportation. The assembly line can automatically request the required parts, the warehouse system responds immediately upon receiving the command, and the AGV trolley delivers the required materials and parts to the designated location. Warehouse management systems also receive accurate information on all orders, even from suppliers, knowing when their supplies arrive. In this way, the goods are fully prepared for receipt, and the AGV trolley is ready for delivery to the assembly line site as soon as possible. For the automobile assembly line, it is also possible to know the upcoming orders and their priorities, and make corresponding production actions that either slow down or accelerate. Every device in the CPS system can be supported by smart sensors and the Internet of Things. Through sensors and the Internet of Things, all objects can perceive each other, all information can be accurately obtained, and the weight, destination, content and other information of objects can be transmitted through RFID chips. In addition to smart factories, SMARTFACE can also intelligently sense traffic information in specific areas to create scientific and reasonable transportation routes and predict arrival times for transportation vehicles (effectively avoid traffic jams, road maintenance, bad weather). Pallets or crates used in smart factories are intelligent and can sense its 'ownerThe AGVs in the factory are also intelligent, not only knowing their destination, but also communicating with other AGVs without colliding even with their discrete movements. After the enterprise applies big data and cloud computing, the CPS system can receive and send information from the cloud in real time, including order information, system forecast, weather data, inventory data, traffic status, location information, etc.
