Preliminary data released by the Japan Machine Tool Industry Association (JMTBA) on July 9 showed that Japan's June machine tool orders rose 25.5% month-on-month and fell 73.1% year-on-year to 34.591 billion yen. Among them, domestic orders in Japan decreased by 74.7% year-on-year and increased by 16.4% month-on-month to 14.346 billion yen; overseas orders fell by 71.7% year-on-year and increased by 32.8% month-on-month to 20.245 billion yen.
