Mori Seiki plans to establish a manufacturing plant in North America
Japan's Mori Seiki Co., Ltd. recently announced that it plans to build a new manufacturing plant in North America in early 2011 to realize local production of machine tools. The original intention of this plan was to take into account the possibility that the exchange rates of the United States and Japan would continue to decline. A person in charge of Mori Seiki Co., Ltd. said, 'If the dollar depreciates, it will become a financial advantage to produce machine tools in North America, reducing the cost of importing machine tools from Japan.' The establishment of new factories in North America is expected to make up for the exchange rate difference between the two countries. , and assure Mori Seiki users of the ongoing quality, precision, and value that comes with the purchase of a machine tool. Mori Seiki currently has 4 factories in Nara, Mie and Chiba prefectures in Japan. The new North American factory will enhance Mori Seiki's local infrastructure and increase the company's total monthly output, thereby providing Mori Seiki for the next ten years. Seiki is preparing for global expansion. The new factory will create more Ru0026D collaboration opportunities. The new factory not only focuses on Ru0026D and production, but also installs and maintains machines. Through this program, Mori Seiki will increase its presence in the U.S. and global markets. The development plan for the new plant and other key matters have not yet been finalized.
