South Korea's April machine tool orders increased by 20.87% month-on-month

The latest statistics released by the Korea Machine Tool Industry Association (KOMMA) show that from January to April 2010, the total value of machine tools produced in South Korea was 796.529 billion won (about 658 million US dollars), of which the output value in April was 202.311 billion won (about 167 million won). USD), down 10.14% from the previous month and a substantial increase of about 50% compared with the same period last year. In April, South Korea's new machine tool orders were 362.256 billion won (about 299 million U.S. dollars), an increase of 20.87% from the previous month, and a year-on-year increase of more than double. From January to April 2010, South Korea's cumulative machine tool orders reached 1,088.2 billion won (about 899 million US dollars). In terms of import and export trade, in April, South Korea imported 108 million US dollars of machine tools, down 11.78% from the previous month; exported machine tools of 128 million US dollars, up 12.78% from the previous month. From January to April, the cumulative value of imported machine tools was US$420 million, a year-on-year increase; the cumulative export value of machine tools was US$417 million.
