On January 16, 2014, US President Barack Obama visited the Vacon Ru0026D Center in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The visit was part of a trip to North Carolina, which was accompanied by US Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz. “We are honored to have Mr. President here. We have arranged for Mr. President to visit our Ru0026D laboratory to demonstrate how Valcon is actively working to change and make our world and way of life better by improving energy efficiency. It’s sustainable,” said Dan Isaksson, Vice President of Vacon’s Medium Voltage Drives business, who was also one of the hosts of the tour. 'I'm here because we need to do a little more work to try and push universities like UNC and companies like Vycan to build partnerships that make America a hotspot for entrepreneurship and jobs around the world. We I hope North Carolina will take the lead in this area, and then expand the experience to the country.' President Obama said in a speech at the University of North Carolina. 'In many ways, President Obama's visit was a great success. Our Ru0026D team did a great job. I think we must have impressed Mr. President, otherwise he wouldn't be speaking at UNC We have mentioned Viking many times in the book. I think this is the result of more than 20 years of unremitting efforts by all Vikings!” The Vulcan Group's facility in North Carolina is mainly responsible for the development of its newest product line, the medium voltage frequency converter.
