Swiss industrial giants come to Changzhou to build high-end CNC machine tool production center

Yesterday afternoon, Changzhou Mayor Fei Gaoyun met with Mr. Yves Serra, CEO of George Fisher Group, in Tianyuanxuan, the administrative center of the city. It is understood that the Georg Fischer Group, founded in 1802, is a world-leading and Switzerland's first industrial group headquartered in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. The group focuses on three core businesses of precision machine tools, automotive products and piping systems. Among them, the AgieCharmilles Group is one of the three business divisions of the George Fischer Group and is the world's leading supplier of machine tools, automatic control solutions and services. The products cover EDM machine tools, high-speed and high-power precision milling machining centers, multi-axis linkage high-speed precision milling machining centers, as well as fixture systems, exchange table systems, automatic tool changing systems, and high-speed precision spindle systems. In 2007, AgieCharmilles Group established Changzhou AgieCharmilles Machine Tool Co., Ltd. as a sole proprietorship in Changzhou High-tech Zone. Since the company was put into operation in 2009, it has maintained rapid growth for many years. In 2014, the sales exceeded 250 million yuan, and the profit and tax exceeded 11 million yuan. This year, the company was awarded the title of 'High-tech Enterprise'. The group plans to expand the second phase of the project at the company's original site, adding about 10,000 square meters of workshops, introducing laser processing centers and high-end EDM products, and turning Changzhou into a production center for high-end CNC machine tools. Fei Gaoyun extended a warm welcome to the guests. He said that the intelligent manufacturing industry is currently facing major development opportunities. First, the 'Industry 2025' strategy proposed by China will focus on key links such as innovation-driven, intelligent transformation, and strengthening the foundation, as well as key areas such as advanced manufacturing and high-end equipment. It is because Changzhou is located in the independent innovation demonstration zone in southern Jiangsu and is expected to receive more policy support; thirdly, Jiangsu Province has listed Changzhou as one of the bases of intelligent manufacturing, which will greatly promote the development of intelligent manufacturing.
