U.S. tech giants are stepping into robotics

by:Gewinn     2022-04-25
According to foreign media reports, Amazon has begun to use warehouse trial robots. At present, there are 1,400 robots working in the company's three warehouse centers, which can save up to about 900 million US dollars in labor costs per year. It is understood that Amazon acquired Kiva in March 2012 for $775 million, but has only recently integrated its products into warehouse operations. Rolling out Kiva robots at scale could help Amazon save between $458 million and $916 million in operating costs annually. Not long ago, Google announced the acquisition of seven robotics companies, and Apple also announced that it would invest $10.5 billion in smart equipment manufacturing, including assembly robots. According to the agency's estimates, by 2020, the output value of China's robot body and system will reach 100 billion yuan, and drive the 300 billion yuan parts market, with a room for growth of about 10 times.
