According to Resolutions No. 41 and No. 42 of the Brazilian Foreign Trade Commission issued by the Brazilian official announcement on August 19, Brazil will reduce import tariffs on 259 types of machinery and equipment products, mainly involving power generation, petrochemical and steel industries. Among them, the import tariff of 250 products will be reduced from the current 14% to 2%, and the import tariff of 9 products will be reduced from the current 8-18% to 2%. This measure will take effect from the date of announcement and will be valid until December 31, 2010.
