The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) announced that it has reached an agreement with Rohm and Haas Corporation and some of its shareholders giving Dow until April 1, 2009 to complete the transaction on substantially revised financial terms. Today's agreement resolves a lawsuit filed by Rohm and Haas against Dow on January 26, 2009. The acquisition will combine the two companies' best-in-class technology, broad geographic reach and strong industry pipeline to create an outstanding business portfolio with significant and long-term growth opportunities.
