Japan's December 2009 machine tool orders were revised up 63.4% year-on-year and 27.2% month-on-month to 60.228 billion yen. The previously announced initial value was an annual increase of 62.8% and a monthly increase of 26.8% to 60.039 billion yen. Among them, domestic orders increased by 14.6% year-on-year and 15.3% month-on-month to 17.637 billion yen, and foreign orders increased by 98.2% year-on-year and 32.9% month-on-month to 42.591 billion yen. The previous initial estimate was that domestic orders increased by 16.2% year-on-year and 16.8% month-on-month; foreign orders increased by 96.2% year-on-year and 31.6% month-on-month.
