The preliminary statistics of Japan's machine tool orders in July 2010 released by the Japan Machine Tool Industry Association (JMTBA) showed that the country's machine tool orders in July increased by 144.8% compared with the same period last year, up 0.4% from the previous month, to 84.089 billion yen (approximately 6.67 billion yuan). Among them, domestic orders in Japan increased by 101.7% year-on-year and decreased by 0.5% month-on-month to 29.097 billion yen (about 2.31 billion yuan); overseas orders increased by 176.1% year-on-year and 0.9% month-on-month to 54.992 billion yen (about 4.36 billion yuan) ).
