Japan's machine tool orders in September increased by 20.3% year-on-year

According to the latest statistics released by the Japan Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (JMTBA), in September 2011, Japan's machine tool orders rose by 20.3% year-on-year, with a total amount of 110.679 billion yen. This figure is an increase of 11.9% compared with 98.962 billion yen in August this year. Statistics show that the total amount of machine tool orders from Japan was 35.738 billion yen, a slight decrease of 14.9% compared with the data in August this year, but a year-on-year increase of 31.8%. And orders from overseas increased by 22.1% from the previous month, reaching a total of 74.941 billion yen. As of September this year, the total amount of Japanese machine tool orders in 2011 increased by 41.9% over the same period last year, with a total amount of 997.271 billion yen.
