On July 8, the latest statistics released by the Japan Machine Tool Industry Association (JMTBA) showed that in June 2010, the country's machine tool bookings increased by 138.8% compared with the same period last year, and climbed 3.6% from the previous month to 83.493 billion yen. Among them, domestic orders increased significantly by 101.7% compared with the same period last year, and also increased by 1.7% month-on-month to 29.157 billion yen; foreign orders increased by 164.9% year-on-year and 4.6% month-on-month to 54.336 billion yen.
