Japan's OSG reference exhibition high-speed steel deep hole drill

by:Gewinn     2022-05-13
Japan's OSG company exhibited high-speed steel deep hole drills (pictured) at the '2007 Mold Processing Technology Exhibition (INTERMOLD 2007)' (Tokyo BigSight International Convention and Exhibition Center) held from April 25 to 28, 2007. Its characteristics are: like the deep hole drill of super hard alloy, it only needs one process to complete the deep hole. Although it requires more hole machining time than cemented carbide deep hole drills, unlike cemented carbide deep hole drills, it can be used on machines without oil injection holes. The reason why the new product can machine deep holes in one process is because the flow state of the chips is improved. This is achieved through coatings that improve smoothness. By improving chip dischargeability, the axial load applied to the drill is reduced. Therefore, unlike conventional high-speed steel deep hole drills, there is no need to lift the drill and remove chips during processing. The deep hole drills exhibited this time have a diameter of 6mm, a chip flute length of 150mm and a longitudinal length of 200mm. Production date has not yet been determined, the earliest will be put into production in the fall of 2007.
