According to media reports on August 12, 2014, Japanese control equipment giant Nabtesco will start producing core components for industrial robots in China from 2016. Nabtesco will invest nearly 5 billion yen to build a new factory to produce 100,000 industrial robots per year for the Chinese market. Nabtesco currently holds about 60 percent of the global market, and the company's overall annual production capacity will increase by about 20 percent to 700,000 units. Nabtesco believes that China's industrial robot market has expanded to exceed the size of the United States and Japan, and the need for production in China is increasing. According to statistics from the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), the Chinese market size in 2013 was about 37,000 units. In the future, affected by rising wages and labor shortages, industrial robots in the Chinese market are expected to expand at an annual rate of more than 15%. While the growth rate of the world market is expected to be 6%, China's high growth rate is very prominent. According to reports, Nabtesco will produce precision reducers embedded in the joints of industrial robots in China. Generally speaking, each robot needs to use 6, which can play a role in increasing the cargo transportation capacity. As the company's only production base, the operating rate of the Mie prefecture factory in Japan has exceeded 90%, and there is less and less room for production increase. Nabtesco is currently looking for factory sites in Jiangsu Province and Shanghai, and strives to put a new factory with a total construction area of u200bu200babout 15,000 square meters into operation in the first half of 2016. In 2016, 100,000 units will be produced, and it is planned to increase to 200,000 units by 2020 while focusing on the speed of market expansion. In China, Fujikoshi and Yaskawa Electric established an industrial robot production base in 2013, and Kawasaki Heavy Industries will also open a new factory in 2015.
