Nippon Seiko extends the life of vibration machinery bearings to more than 2 times

Nippon Seiko has developed a 'long-life self-aligning roller bearing for vibration machinery' that extends the life of the product by more than twice the original product by controlling the sliding of the roller. Mainly used for vibration machinery of mining equipment. Maintenance burden can be reduced. A total of 22 types of products with an outer diameter of 90 to 400 mm are available, and we aim to achieve sales of 1 billion yen in 2011. Most of the mining equipment is used in harsh environments such as 24-hour operation. In particular, bearings used in vibrating machinery for sorting minerals have a harsher operating environment, so their lifespan is shorter than bearings used in other machinery. Since the shutdown of machinery can have a huge impact on production, bearings used in vibrating machinery are required to have higher performance such as long life and high reliability. In order to prolong the life of the bearing, Nippon Seiko adopts the design of special groove processing on the track surface of the upper wheel, thereby optimizing the track surface of the inner and outer wheels and the curvature of the rollers. The sliding (rotation) of the rollers is controlled, and the occurrence of sliding and stress on the contact surface during rotation is suppressed. By taking this measure, the surface fatigue damage is reduced, so that the life of the bearing is extended to more than 2 times that of the original product.
