by:Gewinn     2022-05-25
On April 17, Kenichi Nakamura, president of the Japan Machine Tool Industry Association, announced Japan's machine tool orders in April at a press conference. He said, 'Domestic demand has increased due to post-disaster reconstruction needs, etc., and the recovery momentum is strong.' He believes that the negative impact of the Great East Japan Earthquake is small. Japan's domestic machine tool orders (determined value) in April reached 33.3 billion yen (about 2.66 billion yuan), an increase of 50.1% over the same period of the previous year, showing an increasing trend for 17 consecutive months. Including foreign orders, total orders reached 106.9 billion yen, an increase of 32.3%. Nakamura predicted the domestic demand situation in the future: 'It is expected that the manufacturing industry will invest in equipment to strengthen its competitiveness, and the demand for machine tools may continue to rise.'
