Nikkei BP reported that a few days ago, the Japan Machinery Promotion Association has developed an early detection system that can be applied to existing NC devices and machine tools to prevent collisions between workpieces and tools. The working principle of the system is that the pre-processing material and fixture shape are digitally digitized by a non-contact three-dimensional measuring device (laser scanner) and then input into the system, and the relevant information of the machine tool status such as tool position can be obtained from the NC device during processing. , and then perform interference checking by an external 3D system. When a collision is predicted, the system will prompt the NC device to stop running and display a reminder message at the same time. The system runs on personal computers and is expected to go into production in spring 2009. Okuma and others have installed the function of preventing the tool in the machine tool from colliding with the workpiece on the NC device, but it is necessary to make a three-dimensional model of the material and fixture in advance. There is still a risk of a collision if an error occurs in the presetting. The Machinery Promotion Association adopts the method of fixing the material and jig on the machine tool and then measuring the shape, which can avoid the above situation. The Machinery Promotion Association will introduce the technology at a briefing session on November 20, 2008 at the Association's Technical Research Institute (Higashi-Kurume City, Tokyo).
